Code to Production

You already build full-stack apps in JavaScript. This program turns you into someone who understands the whole system: Linux, Java, data, DevOps, architecture and open source. Two daily habits, touch typing and spoken French, run alongside every stage.

How you work

Strengths

  • You ship. Years of delivering in the private sector mean you finish features.
  • A full JavaScript stack you can lean on for every frontend in this plan.
  • Curiosity across many topics, which is exactly what systems thinking needs.

Watch-outs

  • Jumping between topics before one is solid.
  • "It works" counted as done, so understanding stays shallow.
  • Tools used from copied files (Docker, deploys, git fixes) without knowing what they do.
Program rules
  1. One anchor project for the whole year. New ideas go into it, not into a new repo.
  2. A stage is passed only when its "Prove it" items are done. Delivery is not enough here.
  3. One technical stage at a time. The two daily habits are the only parallel tracks.
  4. Ship every Sunday: push something and write one line about what you learned.
  5. Learn with others: join each course's Discord and ask one question a week.

It looks simple, but it touches everything this plan teaches: a REST API, a relational database, indexes, caching, rate limiting, background jobs, containers, CI/CD, monitoring and real scaling questions. You start it in week 3, and every stage below adds one layer to the same repository. By the end you have one serious system you can explain end to end in an interview.

Week-by-week plan

52 weeks · stages in order

The stages above run one after the other. This schedule tells you what to do each week inside them: mix that week's study, practice and build items instead of finishing one website before opening the next. Tick a week's items here as you go, and the stage checklists above stay your proof of what you have mastered.
